Help Support Us

The Fred Outa Foundation was founded in 2005 and is dedicated to improving the lives of the most vulnerable students in Kenya.

We help to support a school called Spurgeon’s Academy in Kibera slum in Nairobi. Kibera slum is the largest slum in Kenya and at one square mile, houses over one million people.

Spurgeon’s Academy is home to 450 students in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade.

The students of Spurgeon’s Academy are provided with a school uniform, school supplies, food and medicine at no charge. The vast majority of students receive their only food of the day while at school. The school admits the most needy children, those who are either full or partial orphans.

Many of the 8th grade graduates of Spurgeon’s Academy do not have the opportunity to further their education due to dire circumstances beyond their control.

In 2017 the Fred Outa Foundation partnered with Education For All Children to sponsor 8th grade graduates for a program that includes four years of high school, four years of college and a one year support program to help the college graduates obtain jobs and get started in life. This is truly a life changing opportunity for them!

Students in Kenya need your support.

The Fred Outa Foundation is a US registered 501(c)(3) organization.
